Expedia's Lodging Booking Services team is seeking a highly motivated developer to own and develop highly scalable and reliable web services that forms the core booking engine behind hotel bookings!
Requirements
- Understand and applies software design principles, data structures, and design patterns
- Proficient in at least 2 programming languages
- Maintained and supported 2+ production software projects
- Experience with bug fixing and performance monitoring in a production environment
- Built and maintained a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Skilled in applying modern engineering principles to enhance existing systems
- Experience designing and developing APIs
Responsibilities
- Own and develop highly scalable and reliable web services that forms the core booking engine behind hotel bookings
- These services sit at the intersection of supply and demand, and are mission critical in allowing travelers to complete and service their bookings with Expedia
- Build and maintained a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Skilled in applying modern engineering principles to enhance existing systems
- Active participant in communities of practice to share and gain technical knowledge
- Continuously learning and sharing new technical skills to elevate team effectiveness
- Experience designing and developing APIs
Other
- Developed software in a team environment of at least 5 engineers (agile, version control, etc.)
- Proactive in cross-team collaboration and shared problem-solving
- Master’s degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
