The company is looking for a Mainframe Application Support & Development Engineer to help power Sagent by developing, implementing, and maintaining software systems.
Requirements
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
- Experience with DB2 (good to have with knowledge on writing queries) and z/OS/z/VM operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with tools like File Manager, Fault Analyzer, APA, and OMEGAMON.
- Basic experience with Azure Monitor: configuring, managing, and troubleshooting alert rules.
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development and support.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Write, test, debug, and deploy high-quality code in a z/OS environment.
- Provide L2/L3 support for mainframe applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Use mainframe debugging tools (e.g., Fault Analyzer, File Manager) to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Monitor application performance using tools like OMEGAMON and App Performance Analyzer (APA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze the impact of software changes and recommend improvements.
