Premera is looking to create its next generation mobile applications in React Native and needs a Software Development Engineer III to be a key team member in executing the project, making decisions on key technologies, and setting up best practices.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of React Native is a must.
  • Experience working with cloud solutions.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with specific technical tools used at Premera (i.e., Facets).
  • Previous experience in an agile environment.
  • Exposure to API and service-based technologies.
  • Experience using and creating automated test tools.
  • Highly proficient skill and knowledge in developing systems and applications to solve business problems in a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, code, test, maintain, debug, and modify software, applications, packaged applications, and systems for local, networked, and mobile applications in React Native or other cloud-based technologies in an agile team environment.
  • Consult with business partners and IT leaders to assist in identifying and understanding problems or improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate technologies, software, and system solutions that scale and perform.
  • Analyze moderate to high-risk business needs to determine solutions.
  • Design solutions on various platforms by studying requirements and information needs and recommending solution alternatives.
  • Develop and modify code and system set-up based on program specifications using multiple programming languages or system platforms.
  • Apply CICD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).
  • Perform testing using both unit testing test automation and document test results.

  • Hybrid role located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to play a lead role when needed related to technology development and deployment.
  • May mentor or advise less experienced staff.
