New Balance is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their global eCommerce domain scrum teams to apply AI and modern testing practices to validate digital commerce experiences and tools used by retail store associates.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation, preferably in agile product teams.
- Proficiency in C-Sharp and/or JavaScript for writing and maintaining automated tests.
- Experience with Selenium, Gherkin, and BDD frameworks (e.g., SpecFlow, Cucumber).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and techniques, including exploratory testing guided by machine learning insights.
- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants to accelerate test development and improve maintainability.
- Experience with visual testing tools such as Applitools Eyes.
- Strong understanding of functional, integration, and end-to-end testing in web and omni-channel retail environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain automated test suites using both the existing Selenium-based framework and the emerging AI-driven test platform, applying intelligent strategies to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Write and maintain test cases using Gherkin syntax in C-Sharp and JavaScript, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot to accelerate test development and improve code quality.
- Perform AI-assisted exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, usability issues, and regressions—using machine learning insights to guide test focus and prioritize risk areas.
- Use Applitools Eyes for visual validation across responsive web and in-store digital experiences, integrating visual AI into the quality pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and designers to translate business requirements into intelligent, maintainable test scenarios that reflect real-world user behavior.
- Validate omni-channel workflows such as BOPIS, BORIS, Endless Aisle, and Membership across both eCommerce and in-store systems, using AI to simulate complex user journeys and edge cases.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, advocating for the use of AI in test planning, execution, and reporting.
