TikTok is looking to solve the problem of protecting personal data and privacy for billions of users on its platform, ensuring high quality and stability of privacy projects and products.
Requirements
- Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Golang) with a basic understanding of its ecosystem.
- Basic familiarity with classic mainstream databases (e.g., MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HBase, Hive) and messaging systems such as Kafka or RocketMQ.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture is a plus, but not required.
- Any experience or coursework in data tagging, access control, code lineage tracing, or data governance is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and optimization of the privacy protection and data security platform.
- Contribute to the productization of privacy solutions, including algorithms, security toolkits, and workflows, aimed at mitigating security risks.
- Research cutting-edge privacy solutions and technologies, exploring how they can help address existing privacy challenges.
- Support the ongoing evolution of the architecture by contributing ideas and performing small-scale implementations.

- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- As a condition of employment, all successful candidates must be able to establish authorization to work in the United States.
- Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
