Blueprint is looking to hire a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support and improve automated test infrastructure for core operating system storage and file system components, analyze test results, separate product defects from test issues, and strengthen test reliability.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C and C++, including debugging and code analysis
- Experience with scripting languages, particularly PowerShell
- Experience developing, executing, and maintaining automated test solutions
- Ability to analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations
- Experience writing test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports
- Experience with C-Sharp in test or tooling scenarios
- Familiarity with storage systems, file systems, or operating system internals
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze automated test runs to identify failures and anomalies
- Triage issues to determine whether failures are caused by product defects or test issues
- Debug and fix legacy tests to reduce test noise and improve signal quality
- Convert older test frameworks into modern testing platforms and infrastructure
- Create, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts
- Document software defects using a bug tracking system and follow through to resolution
- Collaborate with developers to investigate high-impact product bugs
Other
- Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5–6 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles
- Experience modernizing or migrating legacy test frameworks
- Background in debugging large, complex systems or infrastructure-level software
- Experience improving test quality metrics, such as reducing test noise or false positives
