Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. We've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer who will help solve a variety of technical challenges related to manufacturing satellites, ground equipment, and associated ASICs. You will play an active role in accelerating the manufacturing of satellites to quickly build the Amazon Satellite Constellation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Responsibilities
- Build the manufacturing software systems used by production operations to manufacture the Kuiper satellite fleet, supporting ground systems and associated ASICs
- Build the end-to-end system capabilities required for the orchestration of manufacturing across factory production lines
- Architect and design a secure manufacturing software system that protects Kuiper intellectual property and manufacturing assets via a secure chain of custody/trust
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market
- actively engaged in developing Kuiper's secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities
- develop, qualify, produce, and deploy solutions and products enabling Kuiper's global network
