Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division is looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer to plan, design, perform verification, and overall coordination for safety-certified aerospace actuation applications.
Requirements
- Software Languages required: C
- Experience with DO-178C / ED-12C software certification.
- Experience in the development of actuator and motor controllers.
- Software or firmware development experience for embedded (e.g. bare metal) controllers.
- Experience with Python is an asset.
- Experience with pre-contract customer discussions, briefing technical capabilities, conducting in-person trade study discussions, including schedule and cost impacts and shaping technical requirements.
- Use knowledge of low-level processor peripherals to meet design requirements
Responsibilities
- Meet objectives needed for safety-certified software for aerospace applications per DO-178C and/or other customer-specific objectives
- Apply knowledge of software certification to system-level (ARP4754 / ED-79) and safety aspects (ARP4761 / ED-135).
- Develop plans and standards then works with process assurance to ensure compliance
- Advise on resources and infrastructure needs to accomplish assigned tasks
- Create and manage software requirements in collaboration with other disciplines
- Generate design documentation, block diagrams, state diagrams, timing analysis, etc.
- Develop software test environments and software test plans
Other
- Minimum 10+ years' in a similar role.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office and Visio.
- Refined soft skills for coaching/mentoring and working with other team members.
- Excellent analysis and decision-making skills.
- US citizenship required.
