At CVS Health, the business problem is to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed store technologies that power thousands of locations nationwide, including pharmacy platforms, Point of Sale (POS) systems, handheld devices, store servers, dispensing locations, and connectivity infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related technology roles
  • 2+ years of overall digital or other applicable technology delivery experience
  • 2+ years of experience in delivering software in a large-scale environment with reliability and resilience concepts (multi-region, multi-cloud, containerization, etc.)
  • 1+ year of experience with programming languages/frameworks
  • 1+ year of experience on Cloud Technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience using customer feedback tools such as Quantum Metrics, Medalia, and Adobe Analytics

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement observability solutions using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc. to ensure visibility into retail and pharmacy systems
  • Develop proactive alerting and dashboarding strategies to detect and resolve issues before they impact customers and store operations
  • Manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and error budgets for critical store applications
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in development and deployment workflows to improve lead time and reduce change failure rates
  • Conduct performance testing and reliability audits to ensure system robustness
  • Partner with development teams to embed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles into the software development lifecycle
  • Champion containerization and orchestration using OpenShift and Kubernetes in hybrid cloud environments

Other

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/specialized training/relevant professional qualification required
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
