Develop real-time monitoring software for AFM probe wear to support high-resolution imaging in advanced materials research.
Requirements
- Programming experience (Python, C++, or similar).
- Familiarity with data analysis and scientific software development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test software modules for real-time data acquisition and analysis.
- Implement user notifications for probe degradation.
- Validate algorithms using experimental AFM data.
- Document code and technical findings.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify measurable parameters for AFM tip wear.
- Participate in code reviews and brainstorming sessions.
- Present progress in team meetings.
Other
- Interest in AFM, nanotechnology, or instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field and must be enrolled in a U.S. university for Fall 2026 classes.
