WEX Corporate Payments is seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead the engineering team for the WEX Bill Pay platform, a SaaS solution facilitating consumer payments for tech and service providers. The role aims to develop and execute a long-term vision and strategy, define an architectural roadmap, foster innovation, reduce time-to-market, and ensure the platform's success.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in software engineering with 2 years of engineering management experience.
- Expertise in rapid development and deployment of internal and external services using cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience writing high-quality automation, including well-formed unit, component, and integration tests and an in-depth understanding of the test pyramid.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in cloud and data environments.
- Experience building credit card products or experience developing solutions in a scheme/network.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams, and ability to craft a self-managing distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap for Bill Pay platform, aligning with business objectives, industry best practices, and other Corporate Payments teams.
- Continuously challenge the status quo and implement mechanisms to reduce time-to-market using efficient engineering methods.
- Collaborate with other Corporate Payments engineering teams to reuse development practices and components to reduce duplication.
- Establish a robust and clear engineering roadmap to maintain clarity and motivation for the engineering team.
- Establish measurement of metrics-driven dev productivity for the engineering team.
- Provide regular updates and insights on the challenges and opportunities within the Bill Pay domain.
- Develop, drive and execute a long-term vision and strategy for the Bill Pay platform.
