Workday is looking to solve the business problem of managing people, money, and agents with its AI platform, and is seeking a leader to drive the delivery of critical project milestones for its Adaptive Planning product.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing applications using Cloud-based technologies
- 8+ years of experience with design and development in technologies like Java, SQL
- Experience working with cross-functional teams across business units and multiple stakeholders
- Experience with microservices technologies like Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, cloud platform like Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus
- Experience in ERP application development is a plus
- Strong focus on delivering high-quality software products, continuous innovation, and valuing test automation and performance engineering
- Proven track record in implementing process improvements in a development setting
Responsibilities
- Partner and collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders to prioritize, plan and lead the delivery of critical project milestones
- Drive the activities of application development scrum teams including oversight of quality and product support
- Co-ordinate the analysis, design, programming, debugging with the team and take ownership of project execution
- Engage with Development, Product, QA, Automation, Research/UX, Agility, Doc-writing, and Customer Support colleagues - and with Workday customers - to identify, discuss, debate and ultimately solve customer issues in increasingly innovative ways
- Understand and promote best practices for software development and promote industry-standard methodologies
- Coach and mentor team members to help them to be at their best, assisting with career growth and personal development

Other
- 3+ years in a managerial role, building and managing highly technical and impactful engineering teams and delivering in a global-delivery mode
- Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, process-focused environment, adept at problem-solving under pressure
- Demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed to positively influence important issues or decisions in a multi-functional environment
- Comfortable working in a flexible work environment with at least 50% of time spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners
