AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) needs to solve complex supply chain problems with thousands of variables to ensure customers have continual access to innovation. This role will lead a software team to own the AWS Boost website and builder tools, enabling development teams to build in AWS Boost and contribute to the website, ultimately supporting AWS Data Center Operations globally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Responsibilities
- Own software solutions for building work readiness experience for data center work.
- Lead a software team that owns the AWS Boost website and the builder tools that enable multiple development teams to build in AWS Boost and contribute to the website.
- Build systems that enable AWS to rapidly grow and continue to be the pioneer and widely recognized leader in Cloud Computing.
- Increase throughput by prioritizing high value work that maximizes capacity delivery while protecting security, safety, and availability through software auditable controls.
- Build the systems that automate and orchestrate the physical work processes that occur inside all of AWS’ global data centers.
- Deliver technology solutions to address customer needs.
- Design, plan, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- You are expected to excel when faced with ambiguity.
