Amazon Security is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team that will raise the security bar by delivering industry-best security services, solving complex security challenges with innovative solutions and disruptive, industry-leading innovations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Responsibilities
- Be deeply involved with engineers to architect and develop the best technical designs and approaches.
- Build operational excellence to reduce lead times and maintain the operations of critical services.
- Clearly communicate technical decisions and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure timely execution of key organizational automation goals and customer launches by removing blockers and reducing execution risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work effectively with product managers and software engineers on other Commerce Platform teams to ensure the successful delivery of features.
- Hire, motivate, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing them with appropriate opportunities to succeed in their career objectives.
- Work closely with the leadership team to provide input on OP1, roadmaps, and strategic discussions.
