ID.me is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Person Platform team to define and manage the digital representation of a person across the ID.me ecosystem, powering how individuals are identified, linked across systems, and kept up to date as their information evolves.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years in an engineering management capacity.
- 5+ years of shipping production-grade B2B or developer-facing applications.
- Experience building or managing systems that model, store, and maintain person or entity attributes at scale.
- Expertise in NIST 800-63 AAL2/IAL2 standards, including evidence requirements, verification methods, and lifecycle management.
- Experience building back-end services, API integration, and data modeling.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Responsibilities
- Build, Lead and mentor the Person Platform engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, execution, and collaboration.
- Own the execution and delivery of product roadmaps for defining, building, and evolving the core Person data model, APIs, and services that represent and manage an individual within ID.me’s identity platform.
- Partner closely with sister teams to develop cohesive identity services and data contracts that ensure consistency, interoperability, and trust across the ID.me platform.
- Ensure platform services are secure, reliable, and compliant, while flexible enough to support diverse partner and product requirements.
- Guide the team through architectural modernization, consolidating legacy systems into scalable, modular, and well-defined service components.
- Champion performance, observability, resilience, and long-term maintainability across core platform and backend systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Architecture, Identity, Compliance, and Infrastructure stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Full-time, in-office culture, five days a week at one of our offices in McLean, VA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; or Tampa, FL.
