The Azure Compute team at Microsoft is looking to solve the problem of delivering seamless, fault-tolerant, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This involves innovating in areas like scaling, density, container capabilities, and reliability to ensure resources appear limitless and consistently available, enabling faster and more dependable on-demand compute.
Requirements
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- industry experience in service development, successfully shipping services through multiple releases
- technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, OR Python
- experience in customer and partner focus - able to understand their needs through a data driven approach
- ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical to success
- ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long-term needs is essential.
Responsibilities
- Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable
- Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features and contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems
- A successful candidate will look at the e2e architecture and drive innovations to help improve the experience for our customers working closely with other team members and multiple organizations in Azure
- Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
