ECS is seeking a Software Engineer to oversee the management, auditing, and validation of embedded software for Department of Defense (DoD) or military projects, ensuring design changes are fully qualified and compliant with engineering principles.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Experience with embedded software systems
- Strong background in software management and auditing, with a focus on checks and balances rather than active software development.
- Familiarity with change control processes and software engineering design.
- Experience with embedded or real-time software, particularly in missile or defense systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software design, development, testing, and process management
- Familiarity with Standard Missile systems and Navy weapon systems
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee software updates through change control boards.
- Develop and evaluate design changes for software, ensuring their impact on hardware systems is fully considered.
- Conduct audits of software systems and processes, working with prime contractors to ensure compliance.
- Qualify and implement updated software designs, ensuring they adhere to engineering and quality standards.
- Oversee the auditing process from a management standpoint, ensuring all software changes meet necessary requirements.
- Ensure quality testing is conducted, and that software adheres to engineering principles and project requirements.
- Provide input on process and procedures in meetings.

- Active Top-Secret Clearance
- BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and project management principles
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for mission-critical projects

- Prior experience in DoD/military projects.
- Maintain an unbiased view when assessing and auditing software systems.

- 10+ years of experience
- Ability to navigate the interfaces between Government and contractor activities is a bonus
