Wing is looking to solve the inefficiencies, costs, and safety/environmental concerns associated with traditional last-mile logistics by providing a drone delivery service. The specific problem this role addresses is the need for robust perception algorithms to enable autonomous drone navigation and operation in real-world conditions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in classical/geometric or learning based computer vision, image processing, robotics technologies
- Excellent software design and implementation skills
- Understanding of structured software development processes (code reviews, version control, unit test development, on-hardware test & debugging).
- Working understanding one or more of the following areas: Linear algebra, Multiview geometry, 3D reconstruction, Depth from mono, Depth from stereo, Camera calibration
- Demonstrated experience writing, highly reliable code for resource constrained environments with real-time requirements
- Ability to design and implement well thought-out simple solutions to business critical problems
Responsibilities
- Implement and validate perception capabilities for Wing drones including navigating in GPS-denied environments, operating in challenging visual conditions, and building and maintaining large scale sparse and dense maps
- Support and improve existing systems including calibration, vision based navigation, 3D reconstruction and depth, sharing in the team's expertise
- Carefully execute and report on analyses for evaluating new systems and reviewing data from production
- Design perception systems that are suitable for use in the real world in collaboration with cross-functional teams
