FanDuel is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Tax Engineering team. This team is responsible for consolidating user and bet data from various sources to generate accurate tax forms for each product. They also collaborate with regulatory partners to file these forms and deliver them electronically to users. The core problem is ensuring the correct generation and filing of tax forms for millions of players, requiring robust data handling and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Experience and passion for writing distributed, highly scalable, and available backend systems & APIs using Java and/or Python.
- Knowledge of release process best practices for APIs and services within production systems.
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
- Understanding DevOps concepts such as containers (e.g. Docker), orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation or Terraform).
- Knowledge of testing concepts, test tools, and integrating testing and best practices in the SDLC.
- You are proficient in a broad range of design approaches and know when it is appropriate to use them and when it is not.
- You consider the legacy of the code you produce and write code that an Engineer unfamiliar with the system can understand.
