Sony Electronics Inc. is looking for a versatile engineer to bridge immersive graphics with cutting-edge AI, to design and build plugins that connect the Sony Spatial Reality Display to major DCC tools and architect scalable machine learning pipelines.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of rendering pipelines, shader programming, and DCC SDKs (Maya, Blender, Houdini).
  • Expertise with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent frameworks for deep learning, NLP, and computer vision.
  • Hands-on experience with model optimization techniques: pruning, quantization, and distillation.
  • Proficiency in C++ and strong skills in Python; Java experience.
  • Prior work on AR/VR applications or spatial displays.
  • Experience deploying AI models on edge devices or in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain plugins enabling real-time 3D visualization of DCC content on the Sony Spatial Reality Display.
  • Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end AI solutions: model building, training, pruning, distillation, quantization, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software architects, domain experts, and UX teams to define system requirements and workflows.
  • Write clean, robust, and maintainable code in Python, C++, and Java, adhering to best practices and performance targets.
  • Integrate AI components into existing products, ensuring seamless data pipelines and low-latency inference.
  • Stay abreast of AR/VR and AI trends; propose and prototype enhancements to graphics and machine learning systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development; OR minimum 2 years of professional experience in software development, with specialized focus in graphics or AI.
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
