Cisco IT is looking to develop, integrate, test, and deploy highly scalable and robust software, and is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their IT development organization
Requirements
- 5+ years of dedicated software development experience with a strong emphasis on modern front-end frameworks, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience with React and/or Angular
- Validated experience working with On-Prem & cloud platforms and streaming technologies, robust knowledge of Java and caching mechanisms, and practical experience with Oracle, Elasticsearch and MongoDB
- 5 years of experience working with complex data structures, Kafka, and the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logging and analytics
- 1 year minimum experience using AI in the SDLC with in-depth knowledge of building engineering productivity and reducing cycle time
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts
- Experience or exposure to crafting effective prompts for LLMs like GPT, Claude, or open-source models
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI API, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, or similar tools
Responsibilities
- Craft and develop private and public cloud software with integrated automation and monitoring tools
- Work with software development teams in an Agile DevOps model
- Operate within a highly Agile development environment
- End-to-End System Ownership from design to develop to deploy and include AI into the fabric of execution
- Solve complex problems with accelerated development methodologies with a secure application posture
- Develop cutting-edge AI assistant experiences
- Deploy software with integrated automation and monitoring tools
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience demonstrating a strong foundation in software development
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability and desire to work with teams that span the globe
- Flexibility is key, ability to work from home is needed
- Onsite approximately 3 days a week
