Serco is looking for a Software Engineer to provide software support for the sustainment and modernization of the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN), which provides highly reliable telemetry, tracking, command, communication and control (TT&C3) for more than 170 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil and allied satellites.
Requirements
- Experience in software development using Java, C and or C++
- Experience in at least one of the following: Linux, Unix, Pearl/Python
- Testing/Scripting experience
- Experience writing and executing test scripts
- Experience using the following COTS tools: VersionOne, GitHub, SharePoint, Fortify
- Writing custom simulations
- Agile Software Development experience
Responsibilities
- Perform software studies to find replacements for existing mission software
- Perform trade studies and proof of concept development and testing
- Develop new software release processes
- Review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems
- Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives
- Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
- Analyze (through demonstrations, proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs

- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and 3 years of related experience
- The ability to travel on occasion up to 25%.
