Lockheed Martin Space aims to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve by generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war, dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness, and strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities.
Requirements
- Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript (Node.js)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience with application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift)
- Experience with software version control tools, such as GIT
- Knowledge of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience with API design and development, such as RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of Orbital dynamics and AstroStandards math libraries
Responsibilities
- Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war
- Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness
- Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities
- Designing, developing, and deploying modern user interfaces and back-end services using Javascript (Node.js) or Java technologies
- Work on a mission-critical project that requires a deep understanding of Java, Linux, and containerization technologies
- Experience with application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools

- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
- Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
