Motorola Solutions is seeking to enhance its cloud platform engineering infrastructure to support its public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. The role aims to develop and operate critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the OSI model, with a particular focus on layers 3 (Network) through 7 (Application) and their associated protocols
- Strong understanding of Observability (Monitoring, Logging, and Tracing)
- Proficiency in Git version control
- Kubernetes cluster design, management, and container orchestration
- Building and optimizing container images
- Solid coding and service development skills, with experience in at least one of the following toolsets or languages: Golang, Python, or Shell
- Develop quality scalable, tested and reliable applications using industry best practices
Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) to multiple cloud solutions
- Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forward
- Overall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run in
- Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services
- Network and security design and implementation of core services used by our Public Safety solutions
- Support cloud platform operations and sovereign operations, including issue troubleshooting and resolution
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust health of critical infrastructure and applications.
Other
- Flexibility is required for evening maintenance shifts 3 to 4 weekdays per month.
- Candidate are expected to go into the Allen, TX office at least once a week.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years of combined experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Security Engineering
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing and agile environment
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
