Turion Space is looking to solve the problem of making space operations more efficient and accessible by building next-generation mission control systems, mission intelligence and automation tools, and a commercial space platform.
Requirements
- Experience with modern web architectures and distributed systems
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, or MySQL
- React knowledge for building operator interfaces
- Experience with production systems and reliability
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases
- Container/Kubernetes experience
Responsibilities
- Architect the future of spacecraft operations—think SpaceX-level mission control, but as a platform for the entire industry
- Build real-time systems that visualize satellite constellations, predict orbital mechanics, and automate complex mission sequences
- Create interfaces that let operators control multiple spacecraft simultaneously with the ease of managing cloud infrastructure
- Design systems that scale from single satellites to mega-constellations of thousands
- Support autonomous operations - Support ML models for real-time debris avoidance, anomaly detection, and autonomous retasking based on threats or opportunities
- Integrate space domain awareness ML - Detect and characterize unknown satellites, track missiles, and identify adversarial maneuvers using computer vision and RF fingerprinting
- Build the end-to-end platform powering Turion's commercial operations and our customers'
Other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2-5 years of software development experience
- Ability to be on call for mission-critical operations (yes, satellites don't sleep)
- Must be able to obtain Secret clearance
- ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
