(Meta) is looking to hire a Software Engineer to research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications. The role involves building new features, improving existing products, and working on problems of diverse scope to design core, backend software components.

Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.
- Build new features and improve existing products.
- Work on problems of diverse scope and design core, backend software components.
- Handle large-scale data storage, synchronization and coordination of large server cluster, and provide a runtime environment for frontend code.
- Code using primarily C/C++, Java, PHP and Hack.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

- Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 12 months of experience in job offered or related occupation
- Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:
- Object-oriented software development
- Building maintainable and testable codes bases including API design and unit testing techniques
- Code editors including VIM or Emacs
