Boeing is seeking to develop and maintain advanced virtual simulation toolsets to support Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) initiatives, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of simulation capabilities for large-scale experimentation and advanced concept development.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in Linux development environments
- Proficiency in C++ programming
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Subversion
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Prior experience with operator-in-the-loop real-time simulation
- Familiarity with Distributive Interactive Simulation (DIS) standards
- Knowledge of Python programming
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with both Boeing internal teams and external partners to develop and support large-scale federated simulation environments, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Support contractual research and development efforts by working closely with customers to define simulation requirements and implement solutions that enhance warfighter experimentation and testing.
- Assist in determining simulation system requirements, developing software components, troubleshooting existing applications, and creating detailed software design documents and test plans.
- Model and simulate platforms, sensors, emitters, communication systems, weapons, and tactical systems to support experimentation and concept validation.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, validation, and deployment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on simulation tools and processes, and staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
