SWIB is looking for early-career engineers to solve diverse problems in the cloud, including building APIs, automation pipelines, designing UIs, and creating AI-enabled workflows to enhance speed, accuracy, and decision-making in financial technology.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python with demonstrated project experience.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Exposure to cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience building and delivering at least one serious project (academic capstone, internship project, personal side project, or open-source contribution) that shows your ability to design, implement, and ship end-to-end software.
  • Basic knowledge of finance — such as understanding financial data, instruments, or workflows — and interest in applying technology in this domain.
  • Interest in learning and applying AI frameworks (LLMs, vector databases, NLP APIs, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement APIs and integrations.
  • Build automated workflows that use AI to enhance speed, accuracy, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to front-end UIs that make complex tasks user-friendly.
  • Work with databases: schema design, querying, and debugging.
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Safely and effectively use AI both as a development accelerator and as a core component of your solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates in a growing engineering group, and work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical partners.

Other

  • 0–2 years of professional software development experience.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a collaborative, team-first environment.
  • The position requires U.S. work authorization.
  • All SWIB employees are subject to SWIB’s Ethics Policy and Personal Trade Approvals Policy.
