Coherent is looking to develop and support software solutions for wafer metrology data collection, analysis, and integration with an overall ETL data pipeline for large-scale semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Expertise in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++, C, Scala, OCaml, Go, Rust.
  • Experience with extract-transform-load methodology and relational databases.
  • Best practices in collaborative software development: version control, flowcharts, documentation, and clear code comments.
  • Sound understanding of fundamental computer science: algorithms, data structures, and programming paradigms.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills fast.
  • Technical writing skills, such as maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Knowledge in manufacturing, materials science, or natural sciences would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack software solutions, under general guidance, for wafer metrology data collection and analysis.
  • Continuous improvements of data applications to support large-scale manufacturing in a dynamically evolving technological field.
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enable collaborative software development and independent operations of non-software professionals, such as process engineers and research scientists.
  • Support other software and data projects, such as manufacturing execution system (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, and tool automation.

  • The ability to work both independently and within a team, as well as strong communication skills are indispensable for the role.
  • Job location is on-site in Pine Brook, NJ or Easton, PA, with on-demand travelling between sites.
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. person, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8. U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to align technical goals to business objectives.
