Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Team is looking for new talent to help defend Microsoft customers from cyber-attacks and provide sophisticated tooling for securing important data. The team aims to protect customers with innovative proactive protection, advise on emerging trends, and engage in valuable partnerships to stay ahead of malicious adversaries and predict future threats.
Requirements
- Proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining backend systems.
- Demonstrated skills to work on large-scale, distributed systems.
- Experience in using agents/AI tools including, but not limited to Cline, Roo.
- Experience with Visual studio.

Responsibilities
- create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
- Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
- design and build services and tools to bring cutting-edge cyber security solutions to our enterprise customers to manage and protect devices against cyber threats.
- build bar-raising engineering solutions to accelerate product delivery to global markets.
- build distributed systems and large-scale cloud service working together as a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Data Scientists and Security Researchers.
Other
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
- Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
- Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
