Owl Cyber Defense is looking for a Software Engineer to investigate, enhance, design, develop, and test Linux-based security systems, focusing on identifying and resolving complex security issues at the operating system level to address evolving cyber security threats.
Requirements
- Rust, Java and Python software development experience
- Linux/Unix Operating System level programming
- XML, XSLT, XPROC (or related technical exp) development experience
- Software testing experience
- Experience writing trusted code or providing kernel level functionality
- Design and developing filter software for Cross Domain Solutions
- Experience with identification and specification of data attack, data disclosure, etc. associated with file formats and protocols
Responsibilities
- Investigating, enhancing, designing, developing, and testing Linux based security systems
- Identifying and resolving complex security issues
- Deep security vulnerabilities that target the operating system level
- Learn SELinux and other security processes to harden complex systems
- Work on multiple projects
- Deepen operating system security knowledge

- 5+ years of experience in software development
- This position supports hybrid and/or remote work (periodic trips to the office expected)
- US Citizenship required as candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
