CHAOS Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to support product engineering by leveraging Palantir Foundry as an internal data operating platform. The goal is to build, maintain, and optimize end-to-end workflows and pipelines for managing sensor, operational, and enterprise data, ultimately delivering the CHAOS Operating System in Foundry.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in professional, object-oriented software development
- Experience with Python, SQL data warehouses, and no-SQL systems
- Experience building, testing, and supporting major systems in production
- Experience building or maintaining data pipelines or workflows in Palantir Foundry or other enterprise data platforms
- Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms
- Development experience in Defence, especially ground or airborne sensors (Radars, EO/IR, EW, etc.)
- Modeling & Simulation, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testbeds for algorithm verification
Responsibilities
- Design and build Foundry-based pipelines and workflows, enabling ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data for both engineering and operational users
- Define major parts of our data and backend architecture, including choice of frameworks and systems
- Build and maintain our data infrastructure, real-time data processing, data transportation, and backend services
- Collaborate closely with product, system, software, and hardware engineers to integrate data flows into mission workflows
- Mentor other engineers as the team grows, and work with engineering leadership to define longer term roadmaps
Other
- Work 3+ days per week out of our office in San Francisco (Market Street) or Los Angeles (Hawthorne)
- Familiarity with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development Methodologies
- Experience with 2D and 3D Visualization ideally in defense use cases
- Experience with additional frameworks such as React.
