Requirements
- Building large-scale infrastructure applications
- Relational databases and SQL
- Conducting design and code reviews
- Object-oriented software development
- Building maintainable and testable codes bases including API design and unit testing techniques
- Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
- Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands
Responsibilities
- Design core, backend software components.
- Code using primarily Python, Hack, C/C++, Java and PHP.
- Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
- Set direction and goals for the team regarding project impact, product quality and engineering efficiency.
- Lead major initiatives, projects, teams, roll-outs and phased-releases.
Other
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
- Helps onboard new team members, provides mentorship and enables successful ramp up on your team's code bases.
