Extole is looking to solve the business problem of enabling brands to leverage customer advocacy and word-of-mouth marketing through their platform, which requires building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and resilient systems.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java (or any typed language) with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, common design patterns, and building robust applications.
- Experience with GitHub or similar version control, Gradle/Maven, and a knack for navigating Linux or macOS environments.
- Familiarity with emerging agentic development patterns.
- Experience with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Terraform, and AWS.
- Strong grasp of relational databases, SQL, and efficient data modeling.
- Familiarity with Spring or similar frameworks to build scalable, maintainable services.
- Comfortable working with Vue or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance applications using our modern tech stack (Java, REST, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Terraform, AWS).
- Work side by side with peers in code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentorship, everyone learns from each other.
- Collaborate with product to refine front-end interfaces and ensure every feature feels intuitive and engaging.
- Take end-to-end ownership of product areas, setting KPIs to measure success and continuously iterating for improvement.
- Research and recommend new tools, techniques, and best practices that keep our engineering team at the forefront of innovation.
- Participate in sprint planning and cross-functional meetings, aligning technical efforts with business goals and client needs.
- Engineer event-driven systems and a big data platform designed for scale, resilience, and real-world workloads.
