Leidos Civil group's Transportation Solution Division is seeking a Software Engineer for Investment Research and Development (IRAD) projects to support the Brand New Air Traffic Control System.
Requirements
- Experience with programming languages: Java, rust, Go, C++
- Familiarity with Event Driven and Microservice Architectures, Cloud environments, and Kubernetes
- Experience or familiarity with multiple Java frameworks: Spring to include Boot and Data, Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) (i.e., JPA, EJB, JTA, Servlet), Jackson, Jersey, Swing, JavaFX
- Experience or familiarity with multiple of the following languages such as Java, Javascript, Python, C/C++ and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Experience developing systems with Event Driven Architectures
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server
- Experience with software source control and configuration management tools
Responsibilities
- Responsible for software development activities both individually and as a member of an Agile team
- Analyze and study complex system requirements, use design software tools, provide support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant, and reusable
- Provide software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process and will promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers.
- Engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production bench
- Lead SW development activities and mentor teammates on product team to ensure success

- Actively participate in daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Release Planning, and other related team activities
- Ability to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance; U.S. Citizenship IS required.
