The State Bureau of Investigation needs to plan and develop automated application systems to support its business needs, requiring the analysis of user functions, evaluation of resources, and development of appropriate programs and systems.

Requirements

  • knowledge of computer technology

  • Ability to review and translate specifications to write programs to produce desired results
  • Ability to develop and use appropriate testing protocols
  • Ability to use and interpret technical manuals and publications
  • Ability to design appropriate programs and systems

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and designs Java/C program code, screen layouts, reports, set implementation and testing criteria, and plans to support the development of new or enhanced applications.
  • Performs all aspects of Java/C systems design including writing required program code, database models, testing, and evaluation of existing processes.
  • Provides technical assistance to internal and external customers relating to agency developed Java/C applications.
  • Work with users and other IT personnel to troubleshoot issues.
  • Conducts or coordinates user acceptance tests, performance stress regression, integration testing, making changes and corrections as needed.
  • Participates in structures walk-throughs.
  • Troubleshoots minor network and PC software problems as needed.
