BOEING is looking to develop and maintain advanced mission planning software tailored for defense applications, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support strategic and tactical military operations and ensure the effectiveness and safety of mission-critical systems.

Requirements

  • proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Ada
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies
  • experience with version control tools like Git or SVN
  • solid understanding of unit testing, integration testing, and system validation processes
  • experience working on defense or aerospace software projects
  • knowledge of open architecture systems
  • knowledge of middleware technologies and communication protocols used in mission systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring high quality and reliability.
  • Assist the Product Owner in reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into detailed software designs and specifications.
  • Develop, enhance, and optimize software functionalities, ensuring seamless system integration and performance.
  • Document software architectures, interface specifications, algorithms, and test plans to facilitate clear communication and future maintenance.
  • Participate in debugging and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues promptly, maintaining system stability and performance.
  • Support the development of software processes, standards, and best practices to improve overall efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet operational and security requirements.

  • minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • at least five years of professional experience in software development
  • ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
  • knowledge of cybersecurity principles, and real-time embedded systems
