Federal Express Corporation is seeking to solve the problem of designing, developing, and maintaining highly complex software programs for enhancements and new products, while ensuring efficient and scalable deployment through modern DevOps and cloud-based methodologies.
Requirements
- General knowledge of hardware, software, and network.
- Thoughtful leadership to identify key testing and deployment metrics including Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Change Failure Rate, Time to Restore Service and identifying best structured KPI plans meeting “SMART” criteria.
- Experience with Modernized Testing approaches including API Virtualization, Parallel deployments and test automation, rolling deployment checkout to Cloud/Colocation using technologies such as DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA).
- Experience with Ephemeral Testing, Service Virtualization, Cloud and Rest API SDK integrations.
- Experience with Canary deployment aspects to do controlled Zero Down Time deployments.
- Experience with Blue Green Deployments.
- Experience with AKS, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, CloudOps, Splunk, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spotfire integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and initiative in the overall coordination of designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs highly complex software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Responsible for highly complex concept design through the full development life cycle.
- Prepares and conducts systems programming test requiring interfacing and software tests.
- Coaches others in less senior positions.
- Architecting a structured environment that allows automated testing to be more efficient, maintainable, and scalable using tools/technologies such as Advanced Java Scripting, Java Code Coverage (JaCoCo), Ready API, Zephyr Enterprise, Load Runner, JMeter, CodeQL, Qualys.
- Architecting hybrid software deployments that combine elements of both Colocation and cloud-based systems using tools/technologies such as Canary deployment aspects to do controlled Zero Down Time deployments, Blue Green Deployments, AKS, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, CloudOps, Splunk, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spotfire integration.
- Dynamic scripting for advanced data-driven and complex assertions of API scenarios using Groovy, Java, Python, Shell, Java Script.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or 4 years of qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
- The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience.
- Position allows for telecommuting from home within commuting distance of Plano, TX.
- Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.
