Microsoft Azure is looking for a Software Engineer to help build reliable and performance-critical components for the Azure Compute Node Services group. The goal is to create highly reliable products that operate on millions of machines, ensuring high reliability and availability of the Microsoft Azure platform while meeting evolving customer needs.
Requirements
- proven experience coding in C++, C-Sharp, and/or Java
- Professional and/or academic experience in distributed systems, cloud computing, and/or cloud infrastructure.
- Professional and/or academic experience with .NET and/or Git.
- 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in C++, C-Sharp, or Java
- Experience with improving service operations or engineering quality and fundamentals.
- Experience in building system software that runs on Windows and/or Linux systems.
Responsibilities
- Develops systems and frameworks to enhance the quality and fundamentals of the systems. Utilizes AI technology and advanced telemetry to generate insights and improve the overall quality of the product.
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature. Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
- Creates and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
- Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
- Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
