Skydio is looking to shape how they collect, process, and utilize data from their drones to drive deeper insights into drone performance and customer usage, directly influencing product performance, reliability, and safety.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in domains involving data systems at scale.
- Experience building and delivering scalable and secure cloud based systems with a high proficiency in modern cloud technologies.
- Direct experience with our stack (Python, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Databricks, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Machine Learning, Data Pipelining, Robotics, or autonomous systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of flight telemetry and other drone-related data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tools and frameworks that provide engineers with detailed insights into fleet-wide metrics and individual drone performance.
- Create intuitive, self-serve data tools that enable teams to easily access, explore, visualize and monitor drone data, facilitating faster decision-making and debugging without the need for manual intervention.
- Develop and manage a company-wide data strategy that standardizes how data is accessed, shared, and utilized across teams, ensuring alignment on best practices, tools, and governance.
- Leverage your experience and best practices to not only uphold but improve Skydio’s engineering standards.
- Actively contribute towards the 24/7 availability of Skydio's platforms by joining our rotating on-call schedule.

- The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $180,000
- Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles.
