Motorola Solutions is looking to hire Software Engineers to build mission-critical software for public safety platforms that combine on-premises systems with cloud-native services, enabling first responders to respond faster and make smarter, safer decisions.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing software in C-Sharp using object-oriented design principles.
- Modern DevOps practices such as CI/CD and automated testing.
- Strong knowledge of C-Sharp/.Net using object-oriented design principles.
Responsibilities
- Ship high-quality features in Visual C-Sharp/.NET that power our public safety applications across on-premises and Azure environments.
- Own the full lifecycle—design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance—for services that must meet strict reliability and security requirements.
- Participate in architecture discussions, peer code reviews, and technical design sessions to raise the bar for the entire team.
- Analyze requirements, break down complex problems, and deliver iterative solutions on time and within scope.
- Collaborate closely with UX, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure what we build solves the right problems.
- Champion engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, defensive coding, observability, and secure development hygiene.
- Embrace feedback, communicate clearly, and help create an inclusive, high-trust team culture.
Other
- Ability to obtain and maintain the background clearance required under the U.S. Department of Justice CJIS Security Policy, including a fingerprint-based check.
- Willingness to work on-site in secured facilities when customer or project needs require.
- This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Under 10% travel.
