Redpanda is building the streaming data platform for developers, evolving streaming beyond the Apache Kafka protocol into a unified "engine of record" that reduces complexity, offers high performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and provides transparent tiered storage for real-time and historical data access via a single API. The company is looking to grow its Go-based Connector team to build systems for the public cloud space and shape the technical culture.
Requirements
- Strong understanding and experience of Go
- Knowledge of AI internals, limitations, and how to use AI suggestions programmatically
- Expert knowledge of at least one: AWS, Azure, GCP
- An understanding of stream processing
- Working knowledge of building Kubernetes operators for storage systems
- Experience building a SaaS platform
- Cloud engineering experience
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our Connector ecosystem, with an emphasis on open source development.
- Collaborate with Cloud and Core engineering teams to build robust and scalable systems.
- Contribute to a Kubernetes helm chart to manage Redpanda Connect in a zero-downtime fashion.
- Design new AI solutions to evolve how end-users work with streaming data.
- Work with all engineering teams for deploying services across all of our supported clouds.
- Make resilience and observability integral to the system, enabling us to run a managed, cloud-based streaming-as-a-service with >99.9% uptime.
- Build & design Redpanda’s connect-in-the-cloud infrastructure with reliability and performance in mind.

- Participate in an on-call escalation chain, help drive down problems that lead to on-call escalations, and help drive improving on-call quality of life
