New Relic is looking for a Software Engineer to join the NR Control Platform team to build, maintain, and scale backend services for their intelligent observability platform, empowering companies to thrive in an AI-first world by providing unparalleled insight into complex systems.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on professional experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in a production environment.
- Strong experience in backend Java
- Experience or familiarity with Rust programming language
- Ability to learn, adapt and collaborate with various programming languages (Rust, Go, Javascript)
- Experience with Kafka and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to CI/CD/DevOps, Terraform, Docker and monitoring technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code that adheres to security, reliability, and performance standards.
- Build, maintain, and scale backend services and their support tools while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) and technical constraints.
- Consistently follow New Relic’s Engineering Standards, applying best practices and guidelines to maintain a high standard of technical excellence across all tasks
- Deliver high quality production code that helps drive our roadmap forward.
- Consistently collaborate with the team on the execution of tasks and user stories.
- Understand the services the team owns and be able to build, deploy, and rollback services.
- Join the team’s on-call rotation driving mitigation, impact assessment, incident recovery and long help identifying and implementing long term prevention.
