American Express is looking to design and build a new application to support the infrastructure build and application migrations to their new data center, while also identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies, removing toil, and driving efficiencies and optimization.
Requirements
- Knowledge of frameworks and tools in the respective language enabling effective and efficient development
- Understanding and interest in architectural patterns for highly available, scalable, low-latency, asynchronous systems (for example, well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
- Knowledge of the advantages and challenges associated with the implementation of micro-services architecture
- Incident management system knowledge (service now)
- Basic UNIX knowledge and any programming language (preferably java, go lang or UI stack)
- Experience with design and coding across one or more platforms and languages as appropriate
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Responsibilities
- Designing and building a new application to support the infrastructure build and application migrations to our new data center.
- You will be utilizing the latest technology tools and practice, you may be writing code and test cases, working with API specs and automation to maintain the resiliency, performance and availability of a group of applications
- Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
- Removing toil and continue to drive efficiencies and optimization
- Creating dashboards leveraging splunk, Grafana and kibana
- Reviews current issues and works with Engineering team to get code fixed and deployed.
- Designs, codes, tests, maintains, and documents applications
