Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) in its mission to provide a safe and secure environment for the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. The Directorate of Cyber and Technology Security (CTS) needs to address emerging cyber-based threats affecting the Department's personnel, critical infrastructure, and information assets by evaluating innovative electronic devices and computers.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or equivalent programming languages.
- Strong familiarity with iOS and Android mobile devices.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following: Linux OS, Windows OS, Apple OS, Apple iOS, and Android OS.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and information security principles.
- Proficiency in technical report creation and interpretation.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in research methodologies and data gathering techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and data gathering to evaluate innovative electronic devices and computers.
- Perform theoretical and laboratory assessments of diverse technologies, devices, and hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, product vendors, and software engineers, to devise secure strategies for introducing solutions into practical environments.
- Develop and document meticulous test plans to assess potential security risks posed by mobile devices and emerging technologies.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments and simulations to validate the efficacy of implemented information security controls.
- Devise and implement strategies to ensure strict adherence to cybersecurity protocols across all projects.
- Stay abreast of advancements in relevant fields such as computers, cellphones, medical devices, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, fostering continuous process improvement.
Other
- Must have a current Interim Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government final TOP SECRET Personnel Security Clearance and be able to qualify for SCI access.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a similar field and at least three (3) years of experience working in software engineering.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
- May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training, or maintenance at diplomatic facilities.
