The Data Engineer will help address complex technology modernization challenges by transitioning government entities from legacy systems to modern cloud-based infrastructures that prioritize security, reliability, and fault tolerance.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Agile Software Development methodologies, including TDD, CI/CD, and source code management
- Extensive experience building ETL pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and storage
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and server-side applications
- Experience with data cleaning, data modeling, and protecting sensitive information
- Proficiency in building data integrations via APIs and file-based protocols
- Advanced SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, S3, CloudWatch, and Glue
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data architectures and pipelines that support critical government programs.
- Modernize data systems, enhance data security, and process large volumes of data efficiently.
- Create scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions that enable advanced analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and data-driven decision-making.
- Design, develop, test, automate, and deploy scalable data engineering solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Build and optimize data pipelines for processing large datasets, supporting analytics, AI/ML, and experimentation.
- Implement automated testing, monitoring, and alerting systems to maintain data infrastructure health.
- Support and enhance data security measures across all data systems and pipelines.
