Mochi Health is looking to solve the problem of making healthcare more accessible, transparent, and patient-centric by building a platform that connects patients with the right providers and medications.
Requirements
- Strong Python and SQL; write clean, testable code and performant queries on large datasets.
- Comfortable with modern data stacks (e.g., dbt/Airflow or equivalents), version control, and CI/CD.
- Experienced with dashboards/BI (Datadog) and building small internal tools (Streamlit/Next.js + React).
- Fluent in web fundamentals and modern back-end practices (Node.js/Express or Python/FastAPI), plus API design and integration.
- Quality-focused: you write unit/integration/e2e tests and create runbooks, API specs, and docs that help others move fast safely.
- Experience with experimentation platforms, causal inference, time-series forecasting, and metric governance.
- LLM/GenAI in production (prompting, evaluation, retrieval, observability, guardrails).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate data systems end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, storage, orchestration, and serving (batch + real-time).
- Own the lifecycle of operational metric - from KPI design and governance to dashboard deployment and stakeholder adoption.
- Automate high-friction workflows with Python, APIs, and lightweight UIs (e.g., Streamlit/Next.js) to remove bottlenecks across Ops, Care, and Product.
- Deliver the right surface for the job (Datadog, Streamlit apps, Google Sheets add-ons, or internal React tools) and ensure reliability with CI/CD.
- Instrument applications to produce trustworthy event data; model that data for analytics and product features (e.g., eligibility, triage, routing).
- Apply experimentation & inference (A/B testing, forecasting, causal methods) to evaluate product changes and operational interventions.
- Integrate Generative AI/LLMs where they truly help—summarization, routing, provider tooling—measuring impact and guarding against failure modes.
Other
- This role blends software engineering with hands-on analytics and data product work.
- Clear communicator who can simplify complex topics for clinical, ops, and product partners; proactive, curious, and impact-oriented.
- Startup-ready: adaptable, ownership-driven, comfortable with ambiguity and context-switching.
- Full-Time / Onsite (5 days/week)
