Wing is seeking to solve the inefficiencies, costs, and safety/environmental concerns associated with current last-mile delivery methods by developing a drone delivery system. The Data Infrastructure team specifically needs to build foundational systems to manage the vast data generated by their autonomous aircraft fleet to ensure safe and efficient scaling of operations.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience programming backend systems and/or data pipelines
- Demonstrated coding experience with one or more languages - C++, Java, Python, Go and/or JavaScript
- Experience with data analysis tools (such as BigQuery, SQL), data visualisation tools, and with data processing algorithms (Hadoop, Flume, Spark, Apache Beam, MapReduce)
Responsibilities
- design, build, and maintain the scalable data pipelines that collect, process, and store aircraft telemetry and logs
- making flight data securely accessible for analysis, machine learning and AI
- provide the data backbone that is essential for scaling Wing's operations safely and efficiently
- Partner cross-functionally with software engineers, aerospace engineers, and flight operations/business teams to develop, deliver and scale data pipelines essential for Wing's delivery business and aircraft operations
- Integrate diverse data sources across the business to provide a consistent, accurate view of flight operations, aircraft fleet, infrastructure, and business performance
- Develop and optimize a mix of batch and interactive services across data pipelines, backend systems, and data serving systems to power our operations
- Monitor, validate, and maintain data pipelines to ensure consistent performance and data integrity
Other
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to independently work with cross-functional teams to drive features to completion.
