FedGeek is seeking a Software Engineer – Database specialist candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration (design, performance, maintenance, security).
  • 3+ years of software development experience with .NET stack (ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud (RDS, EC2, S3, or related).
  • Strong background in STIG/SCAP compliance and database security practices.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience with disaster recovery and high availability (HA/DR) strategies.
  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Integration Services (SSIS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of database-driven solutions in support of enterprise applications.
  • Administer, install, configure, and monitor SQL Server environments (on-premises and cloud).
  • Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and security hardening for mission-critical databases.
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Apply DoD STIGs and SCAP compliance to database and application environments.
  • Develop and support application components using .NET technologies (ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET) and integrate with SQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) for database and application tasks.

  • U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a CI polygraph.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be able to travel to client site within the NCR (National Capital Region) or Greater Washington Area
  • CompTIA Security+ (Required)
