Thumbtack is looking to improve the developer experience by making engineering faster, more reliable, and delightful. This involves tackling complex challenges in modern software development, including introducing GenAI tooling, streamlining the designer-developer feedback loop, and building foundations for measuring developer productivity.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript, Java)
- Interest in infrastructure, tooling, developer experience, or DevOps practices
- Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Jenkins), build systems (e.g., Bazel, Gradle), or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Debugging tricky systems problems
- Writing code
- Improving build, test, and deployment systems
- Developing and maintaining internal tools
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools that support software development workflows
- Improve build, test, and deployment systems to make them faster, more reliable, and easier to use
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to understand pain points and identify opportunities for automation or tooling improvements
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning
- Writing code
- Debugging tricky systems problems
- Helping drive incremental improvements to our tools and processes
Other
- Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
